This is amazing. The University of Utah College of Pharmacy has invented a way to “print” human organs using white blood cells as “bio-ink”, and printing onto a hydro-gel substance. It prints in layers, which eventually hardens to become human tissue. The cells are taken from the patient to avoid any nasty rejection mess.
Human testing should begin in about a year. This could be great for transplant patients, and would side-step all of the stem-cell research stigma that we have here in the US.

This is a great design, though I don’t know if it’ll make it to market.
A special peripheral is attached to the telephone that has pictures of people to call. You simply touch a picture, and that person’s number is dialed automatically.
This would be great for senior citizens, or anyone who may not be able to operate the speed-dial on their phones.

Best vehicle ever!
It drives on land, then you can drive onto the water and it becomes a speed boat. Wanna SCUBA? It closes up and becomes a submarine. Since it has it’s own air supply and space for cargo, you can use it as a diving base underwater.
I think we’ve achieved SEALAB status!

This’ll be great for my next trip to the Gaza Strip. This Levis jeans jacket will stop a bullet from a .44 Magnum, so I can feel secure in asserting my 80’s sexiness. Awesome!

Far be it from me to expound on the difficulty of finding tiny objects (like a giant mass of keys) at the bottom of a purse, it’s almost cliche at this point. Well, this purse has solar panels on the side, and the inside lights up when you open it. The zipper is actually the switch! Fantastic!

Japanese architects want to change our approach to urban crowding. They think we can live in the sky, and they hope to build a vertical city twice the height of today’s tallest skyscraper that would house, employ and entertain hundreds of people.
What are you thoughts on the possibility of this? Would you live in it?

Take everything you love about iPod and shrink it. Now shrink it again. With 2GB (500 songs) and 4GB (1,000 songs) models starting at $199, the pencil-thin iPod nano packs the entire iPod experience into an impossibly small design. So small, it will take your music places you never dreamed of.

A subsidiary of Philips has created a prototype of a “rollable display”. It’s a flexible monochrome (that’s black and white, people!) display that can be unrolled to 5 inches. It has a resolution of 320 x 240, and can only display two images per second, so video isn’t possible yet.
The first devices with this technology are still 2 years away. Can’t wait!

So, you send a copy of your fingerprint to jewelery maker Piaget, and they can make a diamond watch or a pendant that matches your fingerprint. This of this as the ultimate certificate of ownership!

Google just released a IM/VOIP client that allows you to send messages or voice call your friends.
It’s still in Beta, and you have to have a Gmail account to use it (though they’re working on allowing all email accounts access).
Looks like a good thing that I will be trying out. Send me a message or give me a call if you’d like to test it. My gmail account is in the profile.
Google Talk
Edit: I’ve tried this out, and the sound quality is amazingly good! Better quality than Skype or Gizmo Project, though it’s quite limiting in the need for a Gmail account, and the lack of support for conferences.
Soon though.
