This is amazing. The University of Utah College of Pharmacy has invented a way to “print” human organs using white blood cells as “bio-ink”, and printing onto a hydro-gel substance. It prints in layers, which eventually hardens to become human tissue. The cells are taken from the patient to avoid any nasty rejection mess.
Human testing should begin in about a year. This could be great for transplant patients, and would side-step all of the stem-cell research stigma that we have here in the US.

For you travelers who tend to have problems equalizing the pressure in your ears when flying, this gizmo will blow pressurized air into your aural cavity to make you feel better.
Note that this goes in your nose, not your ears. Probably wouldn’t work if you have a cold or are otherwise congested, which is when I get the worst discomfort.

In South Africa, with the world’s highest per-capita rate of reported rapes (119 per 100,000 people, though unre), a female condom was invented that has barbs built into it that will hook onto the rapist during the initial penetration. It will cause incredible pain, and can only be removed by surgery. It is meant for women who frequently have to travel dangerous areas late at night, and would be used as a safeguard against rape.
Already, there is a lot of controversy over this device.

In response to the GTA:SA controversy:
An MIT professor tries to separate fact from fiction by doing an unbiased study on the affects of video games. Definitely worth the read, and he seems very credible.
