AA Cell Phone Charger

Posted in Gadgets, Useful at 11:07 am by Bassam

Dontcha hate it when your cellphone runs out of battery, and your charger is miles away? Rather than deal with this massive disconnect from everything you know and love, just plug this little gizmo to your phone, and stick a AA battery inside. A single battery can provide up to 3 hours of talk time.
At $24.95, seems worth it.

Keep Your Eyes On The Road and Your Hands Upon the Wheel

Posted in Useful, Technology at 4:02 pm by Bassam

Engineers at Toyota have come up with a camera that attaches to your steering wheel and watches your eyes. If you take your eyes away from the road, it’ll chime. If you continue to ignore safety, the brakes will start to be applied to slow you down.
The system will be offered in luxury Lexus models in Japan next spring.

Airvantage vest uses your breath as insulation

Posted in Gadgets, Useful at 11:49 am by Bassam

As the title says, this jacket can be pumped up by breathing into a tube. Your breath will act as an insulator and keep you nice and toasty. If you get too warm, you can vent air out of the jacket to cool you off.

The Teastick

Posted in Gadgets, Useful at 2:52 pm by Bassam

This is a great little gizmo for making a singal cup of tea using loose tea leaves. There’s a scoop inside that comes out. You scoop an amound of tea leaves, pull the scoop back into the cylinder with holes, and stick the whole thing in a glass of hot water.

I may have to get one despite the expense ($25 + $5 S/H).

A very funny and cool flash movie. It’s a physics lesson in the Super Mario Brothers universe. The part where Mario breaks the sound barrier is great! Definitely worth seeing.
