I think I can get behind this, given my terrible singing voice… Basically, it’s a mic, with a plastic muzzle that goes around your mouth. You can now practice Celine Dion tunes in Karaoke as loud as you want without bringing any nearby people to tears. As usual with these types of things, it’s only available in Japan.
Frankly, I don’t know how this can work, since we tend to exhale when singing or even talking, and if this thing isn’t airtight, how can it keep the sounds in? What do you guys think?

Philips Research has figured out a way to weave lights into fabric. They’re demonstrating this pillow with a sown-in display that can receive SMS messages and scroll them.
Imagine sleeping nice and comfy, when some jerk SMS’es you the entire text of War and Peace. I think the lights flashing through your tightly shut eyelids could cause some mental damage…

For those worry-warts out there who check up on the Homeland Security Alert level every 5 minutes (I’m looking at you, Fox News!), this blanket will reflect the current alert level with an indicating light, and by getting warmer.
Wonderful! Now, when thermonuclear war breaks out, and I can my nice and comfy in my toasty bed.

A German brewer has created a frosty lager for smoking cessation. Each can contains 6.3 percent alcohol by volume and drinking three cans of the stuff, called NicoShot, is equivalent to smoking a pack of cigarettes. Doncha love science?
